I’m obsessed with Mediterranean architecture. With its understated nature, simplicity can be a powerful force that showcases an effortless sophistication. I wanted to bring the same feeling of warmth and joy from my experiences in the Greek Islands here with me into this desert landscape.

Juxtaposing unpredictable huge organic stone walls against the virgin white buildings was the underlying key to AURA. A complex of 280 lofts close to the Las Vegas strip would be a game changer for Vegas style living.

Walking in, you’re immediately greeted by the warm ambiance created by the huge wooden beams and reclaimed ceilings. The kitchen, built locally in a traditional style, carries on this sense of history and charm.
But what sets it apart are the 200 year old olive trees incorporated into the landscaping, creating an atmosphere that is serene and timeless.

In 1960 famous Spanish architect Erwin Broner designed the wave house. Still with the entire 60 year old finishes and furniture — it was time for a major refit. I sat down with builder and great friend Stefan Nae and we decided to completely bring the house back to bare concrete, then bring in the charm.

There’s nothing like the charm and character of Ibiza, and when it came to creating the perfect beach-front oasis, sourcing all the materials locally on the island was crucial to maintain that spirit.

Perched on the cliffs of Illa Plana – only steps from the beach – the glass house certainly has a presence. A four year build on a rare block of land, this freestanding work of art was worth the wait.

Sliding shutters add to the ambiance opening onto the pool and bringing the outside in. A refined, rustic kitchen feels like it was built centuries ago.
A hike through the dense jungle revealed an amazing 20 foot high granite boulder that inspired the creation of the Bedarra hideaway. The centerpiece of my design – creating something truly unique!

Located in the Family Islands National Park, off the picturesque coast of Queensland lies a secluded haven with Balinese-inspired architecture. A remarkable feat achieved through sheer determination and resourcefulness – having to transport all necessary materials from the mainland for construction in an area deprived of power and water.
